The Journal Record in Oklahoma City has releases the results of its second-ever Reader Rankings, and for the second year in a row, Arvest Bank has received prominent recognition.

Before we get to the specifics, let’s look at how the Reader Rankings were compiled. For starters, The Journal Record posted an online ballot with 52 categories encompassing the areas of construction and design, energy, entertainment, finance/accounting, general business, health care, higher educations, hospitality, legal services, real estate and information technology.

Readers were then notified of the ballot via direct emails and print ads. In total, more than 600 businesses and organizations were listed on the official online ballot.

Voting took place from March 5-April 16, and the surveys generated more than 2,250 responses from across Oklahoma. The results were tallied to come up with the list of award-winning businesses, and that brings us back to Arvest.

We are proud to share the following categories, in which Arvest Bank and Arvest Wealth Management took top honors:

Best Bank for Business Based Outside Oklahoma

1.     Arvest Bank

2.     JP Morgan Chase Bank

3.     Bank of America

2.     Great Plains Bank

3.     BancFirst

Additionally, The Journal Record recognized and celebrated the winners on June 14, at an event held at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City. We are sure it was said that night, but let us say it again…

Arvest Provides More than 2.1 Million Meals

Wednesday, June 13 at 12:00 PM
Category: Arvest News

Arvest Bank launched its annual 1 Million Meals initiative to fight hunger in the four-state region the bank serves two months ago. Today, the bank announced that with the help of customers and community members, it has exceeded the campaign goal by raising a record total of 2,114,630 meals in the fight against hunger.

Launched in 2011, Arvest’s 1 Million Meals campaigns have raised an eight-year total of 13,600,098 meals, which includes more than $2.3 million in funds given directly to the bank’s dozens of local food partners.

This year’s campaign total of 2,114,630 meals was made possible through donations from the bank, Arvest associates, customers and community members through fundraisers, events and nonperishable food drives in all Arvest branches throughout April and May. With summer here, the success of the campaign is especially meaningful because many schoolchildren will be without the meals they ordinarily receive at school.

The bank’s decision to provide one million meals was based on the fact hunger is an issue in every community it serves. In 2016, more than 12 percent of American households surveyed were food-insecure, meaning they lacked access to enough food for an active, healthy lifestyle for all household members.
